About the unit and the position

FMTIS has four operational units (GE) in Sweden that maintain the Armed Forces' command systems in the IT and telecommunications area. The position is located at GE Väst. The unit works with the maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunications network, electrical/mechanical systems, radio, sensor, and surveillance systems, as well as installation, operation, and maintenance of various IT systems.

As a BVKF manager, you will have a central and significant role in the unit's work with flammable goods and chemical compounds. You are responsible for driving and developing the work according to LBE (the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods), the Civil Defense Authority's regulations, and the Armed Forces' governing documents within BVKF. You are the unit's expert resource in the area and provide qualified support to managers and employees. Through your commitment and expertise, you contribute to a safe, efficient, and compliant operation.

The operational department in Halmstad, where the position is located, consists of two sections, a telecommunications section and an IT section, with a total of about 30 employees. However, you will report directly to the unit manager in your daily work.

Main responsibilities

In this role, you will, among other things:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies, and requirements within BVKF
  • Conduct and follow up on risk assessments, investigations, and inspections
  • Propose, develop, and update governing documents, procedures, and work methods
  • Plan and conduct training initiatives to maintain and enhance competence within the unit
  • Support the operation as an expert primarily in flammable goods

The position involves a significant amount of travel with overnight stays, as the operation is geographically dispersed, primarily within military region West.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge and documented work experience within LBE/BVKF or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Very good knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and directives
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Driving license B (manual transmission)

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is structured and has the ability to see the big picture in complex contexts. You have current experience of successfully working independently to drive, coordinate, and develop your work. You have the commitment required to drive systematic work within BVKF in a geographically dispersed organization. You have good communication skills and are used to having a pedagogical and educational role. We value engagement, flexibility, and teamwork.

Meritorious

  • Approved training in the Armed Forces' established BVKF training programs
  • Experience of staff work within a government agency
  • Experience in implementing and developing processes and work methods
  • Worked with supervision of licensed handling according to LBE
  • Technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems
